Information we collect
When you request a quote we collect nothing that identifies you. When you submit a card we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, the payout method and destination you choose, the gift card brand and balance, and the card code (plus PIN where the brand requires one).
We automatically log technical data such as IP address, browser type and timestamps for security, fraud prevention and abuse monitoring.
How we use your information
We use your data to verify the card, contact you with the verification result and authorization request, send your payout, prevent fraud and money laundering, meet legal and record-keeping obligations, and answer support requests.
We do not use your data for advertising profiling and we never sell it.
Card codes and sensitive data
Card codes and PINs are transmitted over an encrypted TLS connection and stored with restricted access controls. Only staff processing your submission can access them. Codes are purged on a scheduled basis after the transaction closes.
Any images you supply (receipts, proof of purchase) are held in private storage and are only reachable through short-lived signed links.
Sharing
We share data only with payment processors that deliver your payout, infrastructure providers that host our systems, and, where legally required, retailers, regulators or law enforcement investigating fraudulent submissions.
Retention
Transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable financial record-keeping rules. Card codes are removed far earlier, once the transaction is closed.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of data we are not legally required to keep. Email support@giftcardssell.com from the address used on your submission.
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including California) may exercise the additional rights those laws provide, without discrimination in service or pricing.
Children
GiftCardsSell is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors and will delete any such data on discovery.
